A high performance sheep drench

Zolvix™ is a broad spectrum, low-volume oral drench for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal roundworms in sheep.

The active ingredient in Zolvix™ is monepantel, the first member of the amino-acetonitrile derivatives (AADs) or ‘orange’ drench class. Monepantel has a unique mode of action compared with all other available anthelmintics. Used appropriately in drench rotation, Zolvix™ can minimise the development of resistance to other existing drench actives, improve worm control and boost flock productivity.^{1, 2}

Important Safety Information

Prior to use, please consult the product label for complete instructions.

May irritate the eyes. Will irritate the skin. Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. If product on skin, immediately wash area with soap and water. When using the product wear elbow length chemical resistant gloves. Wash hands after use. After each day's use wash gloves and contaminated clothing.

Withholding Periods

MILK: DO NOT USE in female sheep that are producing or may in the future produce milk or milk products for human consumption.
MEAT: DO NOT USE less than 14 days before slaughter for human consumption.

Export Slaughter Interval

DO NOT USE less than 115 days before slaughter for export.

Re-treatment Interval

DO NOT re-treat less than 21 days after the last treatment.
After three consecutive treatments, 115 days must elapse before treating again with Zolvix™.

Directions For Use

Drench sheep orally at a dose rate of 2.5 mg/kg body weight (1 mL/10 kg). Zolvix™ is a ready to use solution.

Use remaining product within 12 months of opening the container.

Zolvix™ has a wide margin of safety when used as recommended and is readily accepted by sheep.

DO NOT USE in sheep less than 10kg body weight. The safety of this product has not been established in lambs less than two weeks of age or 10kg body weight.

A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment. Dose to the heaviest sheep by liveweight in each group. Where there is a large variation in size within the group, drafting into two or more lines may be appropriate to avoid excessive overdosing. DO NOT underdose.

Resistance may develop to any chemical. Ask your local veterinary practitioner or animal health advisor for recommended parasite management practices for your area to reduce development of resistance. It is advisable that a resistance test be conducted before any parasite treatment is used.
